Overview of the Recruitment Process

The HSE's last Student Paramedic Recruitment campaign was launched for 2021. Having successfully completed Stage 1 (the initial application, by the deadline) successful candidates were invited to undertake a Verbal Evaluation and an Analytical Reasoning Test (in person in Dublin) as part of the recruitment. The recruitment process comprised of an online application form, aptitude tests and structured interviews.

Pre-entry Requirements

The student paramedic recruitment campaign is open to individuals who hold a C1 driving license and have passed the Leaving Certificate with 6 passes in the Leaving Certificate Examination Ordinary Level or Higher including Maths and a Science subject (i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science). 4 Progressive Stages

The recruitment process has 4 progressive stages:

Stage 1: Application Form

Stage 2: Verbal Evaluation and Analytical Reasoning Testing (tests are taken in person in Dublin)

Stage 3: Eligibility Sift in line with course entry requirements and necessary licencing documentation

Stage 4: Face to Face Interview

Minimum Age Eligibility

Applicants must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office occurs.
